Problem with ReportViewer Control

I have an ASP.NET web site with form authentication.

When I use a ReportViewer control in a page (with a masterPage) and my report (ServerReport and Remote processingmode) has DateTime parameters I can't see that calendar gif in order to select a date. Same thing with a DropDownList bound to a dataset for another paramater (I can't see that arrow from the right side of DropDownList so I can't dropdown it).

When I want to see the report with a browser direct from my Reports site it works fine. Only in reportviewer has this simptoms.

IE has some errors in script

1. 'RSClientController' is undefined

2. 'ClientControllerctl00_contentPanel_ReportViewer1' is null or not an object.

3. 'DropDownParamClass' is undefined.

I found other posts with the same simptoms:

http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=327473&SiteID=1

http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=358590&SiteID=1

but the solution found there doesn't apply to me.

Any suggestions ?

Hi Sorin,
I have the same problem regarding Reporting Service. Is this problem has been solved ? Could you please advice me how to solve the problem?

Best Regards,

Joko|||A work around could be to use a IFrame and changing its source to the report you would like to display.

Problem with Report Server Authentication.

Hi there,
I'm having this weird issue here on the report server. I am trying to
configure security on the Report Server but right now all users have access
to all folder on the report server even though the only group that I have
access to the report manager and it's contents is the DomainName\
Administrator which is me.
On the IIS, I have disable the anomymous access box and I have enabled the
Integrated windows Authentication option in there. now with all this I'm
amazed that all users that click on the Report Server link are able to do
everything on the report server. even when I assigned that user to a Role,
let's say Browser, this user is still able to see every single folder I have
created there.
Please shed some light on this issue.
Thanks,
Manny

Try to click on the folder where you put all reports (i.e. MyReports) then
click on Properties Tab and then on Securty link button. Add users do you
want to see the reports by clicking on "New Role Assigment" button, ask "ok"
to next window. Type a valid domain user and check the roles do you want to
grant to, usually "Explorer". Repeat the same for all users do you want to
grant permissions.
I hope I helped you.
Sincerely,
Arturo Carrión

Problem with output parameter in SP

I am having problems returning the value of a parameter I have set in my stored procedure. Basically this is an authentication to check username and password for my login page. However, I am receiving the error:

Procedure 'DBAuthenticate' expects parameter '@.@.ID', which was not supplied.

This stored procedure is supposed to return a -1 if the username is not found, -2 if the password does not match, or the @.ID parameter, which is the user ID, if it is successful. How do i go about fixing this SP so that I am returning this output for @.ID?

CREATE PROCEDURE DBAuthenticate

(

@.UserName nVarChar (20),
@.Password nVarChar (20),
@.@.ID varchar(4) OUTPUT

)

AS
Declare @.ActualPassword nVarchar (20)

Select

@.@.ID = RegionID,

@.ActualPassword =regpassword

From dbo.Regions

Where Region = @.Username

If @.@.ID is not null
Begin
if @.Password =@.actualpassword

Select @.@.ID
Else

Select -2
End
Else

Select -1
GOMake sure that you specify OUTPUT in your EXECUTE call. If either the caller or the called routine fail to specify OUTPUT, the value isn't returned.

-PatP|||A couple of questions/things:

1. Why do you want to return something that your code already knows about? Return 1 instead.
2. Naming your parameter with @.@.xxx would result in server knowing it as @.xxx, not xxx as expected. And it doesn't make your parameter a "global" variable either.
3. Based on your logic @.ID variable will ALWAYS have whatever value was retrieved from Region table based on @.UserName or NULL, regardless of whether authentication was successful or not. You probably need to change the path of your authentication algorythm. How about setting it to NULL even if it exists but the password is wrong?
